Santa Fe phlox is a small perennial flower that grows as a small green mound in spring. A native wildflower in New Mexico and Texas, it produces pink flowers beginning in May. It will bloom periodically throughout the summer. This is a great choice for hot, dry, sunny areas, the front of a flower bed or rock gardens.
This has been a great performer at the Demonstration Garden. Tolerant of heat and full sun, it has grown well in gravel as well as wood mulch. Will grow in a variety of soils, including heavy clay.
Cut to ground level in spring.
