Peking cotoneaster is a dense, medium-sized shrub. It has glossy, small green leaves. In spring, small, pinkish-white flowers appear. They turn into beautiful glossy black fruit late in the summer, which persist into winter. On the inside, the berries are white and mealy (not edible).
Although its appearance is not that remarkable, it is a very dependable, low-maintenance option guaranteed to grow well in the Colorado Springs area.
There is one Peking cotoneaster planted at the Xeriscape Garden growing in a part-shade location. It is a nice-looking, medium to large shrub. This plant grows well throughout the Colorado Springs area.
Prune out dead or damaged branches as needed.
