Miss Kim dwarf lilac is a smaller shrub than common lilac. It also blooms later and its leaves have a beautiful color in fall.
In late spring, it has long panicles of sweetly scented lavender flowers that burst from purple buds. The small leaves are oval and dark green, sometimes showing a burgundy fall color. It is an excellent choice where a medium-sized shrub is desired.
This lilac is a good choice for those who want the beautiful fragrant flowers of a lilac but don't have room for a larger cultivar. It has been an excellent shrub at the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, surviving many years. The later bloom time helps it avoid late spring frosts. The beautiful fall color gives it an added season of interest. We highly recommended it.
Remove the flower clusters after they have finished blooming, if desired. Prune out dead or damaged branches at any time.
