Dwarf globe blue spruce is a medium-sized, compact, rounded form of Colorado spruce. It is grown for its silvery blue color and round shape. It can be a great specimen plant with year-round interest for moderate water areas. It's very resilient to Colorado Springs' weather conditions, if given enough moisture.
There are two dwarf globe blue spruces growing at the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden. Both are relatively mature specimens. They are easy-care plants that add interesting color and year-round interest to the garden.
Both have needed selective pruning to maintain their shape and size as they got older.
No maintenance required under normal conditions. New growth and young plants can be susceptible to deer browsing.
